Ginnie's House Program Overview

	A child discloses sexual or physical abuse or assault to a friend, guidance counselor at school, or a trusted family member?

Ginnie’s House provides a neutral, child oriented and safe environment for children (under age of 18 years) and their non-offending caretakers. No alleged perpetrators are permitted access to the building.

The multi disciplinary team provides ongoing case management through to the conclusion of the criminal and/or civil court.


	Joint investigative team of law enforcement detective and DYFS caseworker immediately conference regarding known facts of allegation Child brought to Ginnie’s House for interviews by investigative team Following interview with the child, referrals are made for therapy and a medical examination (on-site or to appropriate medical professional) as appropriate. Prior to leaving Ginnie’s House, a safety plan for the child is in place. (Ginnie’s House is not a residential facility.)


	A confidential multi-disciplinary team of local professionals with training and experience in child abuse, conference to review the case and plan appropriately. *Ongoing therapy assists the child in regaining self-esteem and confidence in daily living.*


	Skilled therapists assist the trial team with court preparation as needed. There is no fee for any services offered at Ginnie’s House Children’s Advocacy Center.
